We pride ourselves on being an environmentally compassionate brand but what does that mean?
Sustainability has different definitons depending on the brand. At Electra Universe we have an empathy for the planet and its people born from a life of travel and being immersed in different environments and cultures.
With decades of experience in sustainability in travel writing and environmental projects: I created Eco Gypsy as an embodiment of my life and the many islands I have grown up on and lived in after studying and working in sustainabilty………..this created my ethos.

Empathy for the Earth - Everything we do puts the planet first, from the materials we use to the people we work with.
The environment always is at the forefront of everything we create. Inspired by islands and its unique sea faring communities, as well as jungles and unique untouched parts of the world.
Sustainable Materials - Sourcing from the environment, organic bamboo cotton and shells are part of our collection.
We are always drawing our inspiration from nature. Shells are ethically harvested from remote islands in Indonesia by the sea gypsies whom we buy from directly and applied to each piece by hand by local artisans.
Organic bamboo cotton comes from the forests of Indonesia and we use hand dyes to keep the earth and your skin chemical free.
Cultural Community - People are part of our community, from sourcing to craftsmanship.
We work with supporting artisan skill sets and crafsmanship, blending traditional techniques with modern designs to support cottage industries with a fair and living wage.
Handcrafted Luxury - Every piece of the collection is handmade by artisans, weaving the unique tale of the materials and the culture into the fabric and story of the collection. Ancient techniques and modern design are combined to create each pieces unique story.
